Guidelines
Who can participate?
-
Only students enrolled in a secondary education program in grades 9th to 12th can participate. As an exception, people on gap years taken before college enrollment can also partake in the competition.

Do we participate in teams?
-
Students must compete in teams of 3 to 5 people. It’s up to the interested students to set up their own teams, but if necessary, the BEES team will pair participants with insufficient teammates so that they can have complete teams and compete.

Is it free?*
-
No. For each team member, a $4 (four dollars) fee must be paid. Consequently, teams of three have to pay $12 (twelve dollars), teams of four have to pay $16 (sixteen dollars), and teams of five have to pay $20 (twenty dollars). If you feel you're unable to pay the fee, we'll offer a limited number of fee waivers that you can apply for.

How is the competition like?
-
It is divided into two phases: qualifiers and finals. For the qualifiers, the students will have one month to write and send us a report on how they aim to solve one of the four problems we propose. Then, the finalists will have to prepare a presentation of another problem (related to the first four from before) and present it to a panel of judges.

When will it happen?
-
The competition will happen in the second semester of 2021. Pre-Registrations will start in May, official registrations will open in July, and the qualifiers will begin in August.
