ABOUT US

What is our aim?

Through the content we produce in our social media accounts, we seek to help students learn the basics. Through our hands-on competition, we will have them apply what they know and deepen their knowledge. Therefore, to fully take advantage of our project, the student will have to learn passively and actively, becoming the protagonist of his/her BEES education.

Who are we?

The BEES Competition is a project idealized by high-schoolers that saw the lack of initiatives and opportunities to explore the BEES field before college, and took it upon themselves to change that scenario.

Where are we from?

We pride ourselves in being one of the few international high school competitions that are Brazil-based, created, and run by Brazilians.

So, is it just for Brazil?

Although Brazilian at the core, we are still a global competition. Our competition will be entirely in English and our social media is as well, although we may translate for the sake of getting the message across. Our international focus is due to an important value within our project: promoting global communication. By having to learn English on the go, the non-native competitors have the chance to experience the language actively, and by competing with people from all over, they also have the chance to have direct contact with people from drastically different backgrounds. Therefore, although we are a proudly Brazilian project, we also abide to promote global citizenship.

Why BEES?

First of all, our name "BEES" is an abbreviation of Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, but it also represents our values: bees are fundamental to the environment but they currently are endangered, they also are some of the most ingenious living beings to exist, working together to make sure their home is safe and working, and finally, they have created incredible solutions to their own problems. Similarly, with our project we want to encourage students to cooperate with one another to create innovative and sustainable solutions for our world's current issues.
